Travel Should Be for Everyone: How Go Far VIP Travel Helps Make Travel More Accessible

Travel should be exciting—not overwhelming because you’re worried about getting through the airport, finding the right hotel room, navigating a cruise ship, or figuring out how to get a scooter delivered to your destination.
At Go Far VIP Travel, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to see the world. For our clients who have mobility challenges or need additional assistance while traveling, we take extra time to understand exactly what they need and help put those arrangements in place before they leave home.
Because “accessible” means something different for everyone.
We Start by Asking the Right Questions
One of the most important things we do is listen.
Do you use a wheelchair full-time or only for longer distances? Can you walk a few steps? Do you need a roll-in shower? Grab bars? A shower seat? Do you need a scooter onboard a cruise ship? Will you need assistance getting through the airport?
These details matter.
We want to understand your individual needs so we can recommend accommodations and travel experiences that make sense for YOU.
Accessible Hotel Rooms
Not all accessible hotel rooms are the same, which is why we don’t like to make assumptions.
Depending on our client’s needs, we can look for features such as:
Roll-in showers
Grab bars
Accessible toilets and sinks
Wider doorways
Lower beds or accessible bed heights
Wheelchair-accessible pathways
Elevators
Accessible common areas, pools and restaurants
When necessary, we can also contact the hotel or resort directly to confirm accessibility details.
We would much rather ask an extra question before you travel than have you arrive and discover that the room doesn’t work for you.
Accessible Cruise Cabins
Cruising can be a wonderful option for travelers with mobility needs, but choosing the right ship and cabin is extremely important.
Accessible cruise cabins are generally designed with additional space for maneuvering a wheelchair or scooter and may include features such as wider doorways, accessible bathrooms, roll-in showers, grab bars and other modifications.
These cabins are limited and can book quickly, which is another reason we encourage clients who require an accessible cabin to plan early.
We also look beyond the cabin. We can help research accessible areas of the ship, dining, ports and shore excursions so you have a better idea of what to expect throughout your vacation.
Need a Scooter? We Can Help With That Too.
For some travelers, walking through a large resort or cruise ship simply isn’t realistic.
That’s where companies such as Scootaround can be incredibly helpful.
Scootaround provides mobility equipment rentals in many travel destinations, including scooters, wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. Depending on the destination and arrangements available, equipment can often be coordinated for use during a cruise or vacation.
Instead of trying to figure out where to rent a scooter after you arrive, we can help research the options and coordinate the arrangements ahead of time.
One less thing for you to worry about.
We Can Arrange Wheelchair Assistance at the Airport
Airports can involve a LOT of walking.
If one of our clients needs wheelchair assistance, we can contact the airline and request the appropriate mobility assistance for their reservation.
Wheelchair service can help travelers navigate the airport, including getting through the terminal and to the gate. We also make sure the request is noted with the airline before travel.
We encourage our clients to remind the airline when checking in as well, because when it comes to something this important, I’m a big believer in double-checking!
We Think About the Entire Trip
Accessible travel isn't just about the hotel room or cruise cabin.
We also consider the rest of the journey.
How are you getting from the airport to the hotel? Can the transportation accommodate your mobility equipment? Is the excursion appropriate for someone with limited mobility? Are there stairs? How much walking is involved? Is the destination itself easy to navigate?
Sometimes the answer may be that a particular experience isn't the best fit—and that's okay. Our job isn't to simply sell you a vacation. Our job is to help you find the right vacation.
